Design

Consultation

The first step is our initial meeting. This is where we find out everything you want from your garden or space. Your thoughts and ideas, however loose or well thought through, need to be considered. Through this process we obtain your brief and start looking at options, with the aid of our portfolio of work. We do not charge for an initial consultation. At this stage we determine whether you require a design service or landscaping only.

Survey

A survey then needs to be completed in order to design the space. This includes careful measurement of the area, heights and levels, existing structures and plants within the garden, together with an assessment of the surrounding landscape. Often the survey can be completed during the initial consultation, and is not charged for. With larger and more complex gardens the survey may take place at a later date and be charged for as part of the design fee.

Design

A number of design services are offered. At its simplest, the design will be a scaled A4 layout plan often at 1:50 or 1:100. These are CAD drawings indicating detail of the landscape design and ideas for planting. Larger gardens or more complex projects may require A3 layout plans, perhaps incorporating detailed cross sections, planting plans, mood boards or 3D design. Sometimes a finished design can be completed for you after our initial meeting, or alternatively we may agree to return for further meetings where we will present outline design drawings. In 2011 our design fees have ranged from £0 to £950 depending on the complexity of the landscaping project.

Quote

On completion of the design we are able to provide a quote to complete all the work required, both the hard landscaping (construction) and the soft landscaping (planting, lawns etc). As a garden design and build company, we can complete your garden or landscaping project without the need to charge monitoring fees that often make garden designers more expensive to employ, when they seek to charge fees to oversee the services of an independent landscape contractor. However, as you have paid for a completed design, you are still in a position to obtain independent quotes from other landscape contractors.

Landscaping

Once you have agreed for us to undertake the work, contracts are supplied, and then Gabriel works together with our team of landscapers to complete all aspects of our landscaping projects (list of services). From initial clearance, garden and landscape construction, through to final planting and making sure everything is clean and tidy before we leave. Our team are very conscientious, polite and tidy. We endeavour to leave gardens as neat as possible during construction, not upset your neighbours and keep your home or work space very clean during the whole process.

We have comprehensive public liability and employee liability insurance.

Maintenance

On completion we supply care notes for any plants that have been provided, so you can keep on top of the garden maintenance. We can also arrange to undertake quarterly maintenance sessions which are useful to ensure everything is kept in shape over the seasons. Alternatively, we can assist with organising more regular garden maintenance on an on-going basis.
